1. Marinate 1-1½ lb (450-700 g) of beef with National Beef Biryani Masala , yogurt, and ginger-garlic paste. Allow it to marinate for 30-60 minutes for enhanced flavor.
2. Heat cooking oil in a large pot, fry sliced onions until golden brown, then add the marinated beef. Cook until the meat is lightly browned.
3. Add tomatoes and the required amount of water. Cover and simmer over low heat until the beef becomes tender and a rich, flavorful gravy is formed.
4. Separately boil soaked basmati rice until it is about 75% cooked , then drain thoroughly.
5. Layer the partially cooked rice over the prepared beef curry. Add fried onions, fresh coriander, mint leaves, and saffron-infused milk or food color if desired.
6. Cover the pot tightly and cook over low heat (dum) for 15-20 minutes until the rice is fully cooked and infused with the aromatic spices.
